The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, defended the Israeli government, stated that the country does not commit “excesses” in the war against Hamas and criticized President Lula (PT). The statements were made in an interview with Spanish CNN, shown this Sunday (31).

What happened

Milei stated that Israel is a great ally of Argentina. He stressed that the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not committing a “single excess” in the war against the extremist group Hamas. “Israel, everything it is doing, it does within the rules of the game,” he assured.

The libertarian criticized Latin American leaders who condemned Israel for the war. The Israeli offensive launched in Gaza in retaliation for the Hamas attack on its territory on October 7 left 32,782 people dead, according to the territory’s Ministry of Health. The Hamas attack left at least 1,160 people dead, most of them civilians, according to an AFP report based on Israeli data. Hamas captured around 250 hostages, 130 of whom remain captive in Gaza, including 34 who have died, according to Israeli authorities.
