(Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia will fall apart as soon as destructive thoughts about dividing people into friends or enemies begin to be implemented in the country.

“As soon as we start implementing these destructive thoughts about everyone else being enemies here, we will ruin the country, and the main victims will be the Russian people,” Putin told military pilots during a working visit to the Russian city of Torzhok, in the region of Tver, this Wednesday (28).

The president added that he feels anxiety when he hears slogans that Russia is only for Russians. “You know, when I listen to our people — such people are everywhere, in any society — when I listen to hard-line patriots, including those who say that Russia is only for Russians, you know, I feel anxiety,” Putin said.

The Russian President said that Russia is a multinational and multiethnic country, and it is necessary to value interethnic peace in Russia and the unity of the Russian people.
