Sports initiative supported by the State Secretariat for Economic Development of Mato Grosso (Sedec), through the Deputy Secretariat of Tourism, Ultramacho, attracted around 1000 athletes to Primavera do Leste this Saturday and Sunday (27th and 28th), boosting tourism , the hotel chain and local commerce. There were mountain biking events with a distance of 50 km, cycle tourism with a distance of 25 km and races with distances of 6 km, 11 km and 21 km, with departures at Lagoa Municipal Vô Pedro Viana.

Sedec participates in Ultramacho events with the Discover Mato Grosso project stand. The secretariat team provides information about tourism in Mato Grosso, highlighting local tourism in the municipality that hosts the event and distributes materials related to tourism in the state.

For the Secretary of Economic Development, César Miranda, it is crucial to support initiatives that boost the economy of municipalities and promote tourism.

“Participants come from Cuiabá, Rondonópolis and many other cities to participate in the competition, not just local residents. There are competitors from 35 municipalities, which means crowded hotels, movement in restaurants and tourist attractions. This is one of the objectives of the State Government, to promote the development of municipalities, with the economy rotating in different ways, whether with investments or events like this, and that is why we are present and support”, stated the secretary.

The Deputy Secretary of Tourism, Felipe Wellaton, highlights that this competition highlights another facet of the city, and Discover Mato Grosso, as a partner, shows the local tourism potential.

“Discover Mato Grosso works to boost Mato Grosso’s tourism potential and is present in events and initiatives that align with this work. Ultramacho not only strengthens the state’s sport, but also boosts tourism, highlighting the beauties of Primavera do Leste, such as Lagoa Azul, the Rio das Mortes, among others. The tourism team plays its role in contributing, supporting and promoting the beauty we have, on several fronts. The Government has invested in tourist infrastructure and now we need to promote these points so that tourists can access them”, said Wellaton.

“This weekend alone we have 35 municipalities present in our city, making Primavera once again place itself on the sporting scene. In addition to the entire economy driven by this sport, there are hotels and restaurants, thanks to the support of several supporters such as the Government of the State of Mato Grosso”, said the mayor of Primavera do Leste, Leonardo Bortolin.

Ultramacho has an annual calendar of events focused on cycling and trail running, which is held in several tourist destinations in Mato Grosso.

Primavera do Leste hosts the second event of the year. The first was held in the municipality of Campo Verde. Cleide Rocha has participated in the competitions for over 10 years and came from Cuiabá to attend the event by participating in the 11 km race.

“I think it’s incredible what the State has done with Ultramacho to value the spaces in cities. We arrived yesterday, stayed in a hotel and went out at night to see the city”, reported the athlete.

“The State’s partnership, through Sedec, is fundamental to achieving one of the brand’s objectives, which is to make people from Mato Grosso get to know their state, through sport, adventure and tourism. The Discover Mato Grosso project is one of the initiatives that enhances the knowledge of our community, from our population to our tourist attractions”, said one of the event organizers, Marcus Vinícius Castro Alves.
