In statements released by the Kremlin this Thursday (28), Russian dictator Vladimir Putin denied that his country had any intention of attacking NATO countries, but stated that Moscow could attack F-16 fighters at military alliance bases if the The aim is to use them against the Russians in the war in Ukraine.

“We have no aggressive intentions towards these states,” Putin said. “The idea that we will attack another country – Poland, the Baltic States, and the Czechs are also afraid – is complete nonsense. It’s just nonsense.”

The Russian dictator, however, said that the situation would change if F-16s were allocated to NATO air bases so that Ukraine could use them against Russia.

In February, Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas and an unnamed European Union official told the American magazine Foreign Policy that Ukraine should receive its first American-made F-16 fighters in June and a claim of Kiev since the beginning of the war.

Days later, a spokeswoman for the Arizona National Guard informed CNN that the first Ukrainian pilots must complete training to use these combat aircraft between May and August.

“If they provide F-16s [à Ucrânia]and they are talking about it and apparently training pilots, this will not change the situation on the battlefield,” Putin said.

“We will destroy the aircraft just as we destroy tanks, armored vehicles and other equipment today, including several rocket launchers,” he added, before making a reservation: “Of course, if they are used from third country air bases, they will be destroyed. will become legitimate targets for us, wherever they are located.”

In February, after French President Emmanuel Macron suggested that NATO might send troops to fight in Ukraine, Putin threatened a nuclear attack against the West.
