It is also on this religious holiday that, every year, it is practically impossible not to come across the famous film ‘Passion of the Christ’, released in 2004 and directed by Mel Gibson. However, this is not the only artistic reproduction of this tragic biblical story, with, for example, several theater productions occurring not only around the world, but even in Brazil.

However, one specific piece draws attention, after the actor who brings Jesus to life shared that he actually suffers from the wounds of the lashes that the biblical figure suffered.
The actor in question is called Allan Souza Limais 38 years old, and is part of the cast of ‘Passion of the Christ’ at Teatro Nova Jerusalem, in the district of Fazenda Nova, in the interior of Pernambuco.

In an interview with the column Veja Gente, by Valmir Moratelli, Allan reported having real wounds on his back due to the treatment he underwent to play the Messiah in ‘Passion of the Christ’. “I told the director: ‘Treat me like Jesus. At the time of the whip, you can hit‘.”
Furthermore, for the role, he dispensed with makeup and faced the scorching sun during rehearsals, to give himself even more to the character. “I want this dirty character for myself, a Jesus with dust on his face”, he adds.
