In an official statement published via Meta, the WhatsApp has confirmed that it is releasing its new design language to all app users on Android and iOS.

The improvements had already been released to a wide number of people, but were not yet available for the entire base of devices that have the application, something that starts to change this Friday.

According to WhatsApp, these changes aim to modernize the appearance of the application, preserving its functionalities and facilitating user interaction.

An example of this is that the Android navigation bar has now been moved to the bottom, and the application will also have a more effective dark mode to avoid eye fatigue in low light.

WhatsApp also highlighted that its Android version is receiving new icons, animations and an unprecedented color palette. Another interesting change is that the default chat background now has new objects and more customization.

Chat filters are something that will be released to everyone on both Android and iOS, with the latter also replacing the traditional blue color with a shade of green.

The version for iPhones also features simplified sending of photos and videos, with a new layout of attachments, allowing easier access.

As WhatsApp explains, the improvements should reach all users over the next few days, unifying the experience on all smartphones.
