According to G1, the satellite dish needs to be replaced with a digital one as soon as possible. Kits with replacement equipment are being made available free of charge to families benefiting from social programs, whose data is registered with CadÚnico.

In a statement, the Federal Government announced that the Ministry of Communications has extended the closing date for analogue transmissions, open in 1,005 cities, to June 2025. This was done especially so that the population does not remain without a television signal.

What changes from analogue to digital TV?

The analog signal is already part of the past. And this, of course, can also be seen through the broadcast quality of broadcasters, such as Globo, Record and Band, which work on digitalization, offering a completely different image from its predecessor.

In a more technical way, analogue transmission used continuous electromagnetic waves, while digital transmission uses a stream of bits, in binary codes, also seen in the digital language of PCs, CDs, DVDs and cell phones, transforming sounds and colors into bits.
