According to Bloomberg, Take-Two informed employees of the English company Roll7 about the closure of the studio, offering compensation for their immediate dismissal. Intercept Games, as it is located in the state of Washington, requires by law that employees be informed to the government about their dismissal at least 60 days in advance.

Because of this, Take-Two filed a notice with the state Department of Employment Security about the layoff of 70 employees, which is the number of people employed at Intercept Games.

Layoffs and project cancellations

Take-Two announced in April 2024 that it would lay off 5% of its staff, in addition to canceling ongoing projects in order to reduce expenses. The company, which also owns 2K Games and Rockstar Games, confirmed to the Game Developer website that it will continue to support Kerbal Space Program 2a title that is still in Early Access on Steam.

Take-Two joins other companies such as Sony, Microsoft, Sega, Gearbox, Epic Games and Riot Games, which have also carried out layoffs since the beginning of 2024. It is estimated that more than 10 thousand professionals lost their jobs in the first few months of the year, well exceeding the number of dismissals in 2023.
