The version 1.5 update of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be released on May 9th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and on May 16th for Switch, according to an announcement from publisher 505 Games and developer ArtPlay. This will be the last update planned for the game.
The update will contain new game modes “Chaos Mode” and “Versus Mode”, as well as a free cosmetic pack. Three paid cosmetic packs for Miriam will also be released alongside the update.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Update 1.5 Contents
Update 1.5 will contain two new game modes and a free cosmetic pack. Along with this, three Miriam cosmetic packs with premium downloadable content will be available for purchase. This will be the final update for the game.
Chaos Mode
“Chaos Mode” is local or online cooperative action that you can play alone, with a friend, or with other players on the same system. Fight your way through a series of randomized rooms to defeat demons and bosses. Complete challenges before each boss to get powerful upgrades! How long will you survive?
Versus Mode
“Versus Mode” is a special PvP mode created just for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. At the start of the match, players will enter a room dedicated to battle. Wave after wave of demons will begin attacking both players. By defeating the demons, you will gain souls. Souls can be spent at the central statue (shop) to upgrade your weapons, armor or items.
You will be able to acquire attacks that will negatively affect your opponent. Fill their room with fog, reverse the controls, and more! The winner is the player who survives the longest.
“Versus Mode” supports local and online gaming with friends or matchmaking with other players on the same platform. Please note that Chaos and Versus modes do not support cross-play.
More details about each game mode will be revealed when they are released.
Premium and free cosmetic packs
Version 1.5 also includes three premium (paid) cosmetic packs and a free pack for Miriam that will change her appearance in the game.
Each cosmetic pack contains several unique clothing and weapon items, each with upgradable stats. Premium Cosmetic Packs will be available for purchase on each platform’s online store.
Equipping a full set of cosmetic pack items will activate a special stat bar for that specific pack.
Included in 1.5 is a free cosmetic pack for Miriam that will automatically be added to everyone’s inventory when it launches.
Premium downloadable content “Classic II: Dominique’s Curse”

- Content: After update 1.5, “Classic Mode II” will be released, a game mode with premium downloadable content. It features the same retro gameplay as “Classic Mode”, but with a larger map and its own canonical storyline. More information about “Classic Mode II” will be provided closer to release.
