What are Apple’s next releases?

On May 7, Apple has a commitment: it will hold the Let Loose event, an event focused on news and updates to the iPad lines. As always, the big tech company that owns the iPhone keeps its products extremely confidential and the occasion will be a revelation of what it has up its sleeve.

The website Engadget revealed that, although the company does not give launches on a platter, it has already offered some tips in reports in recent months. See some possible launches for the event.

Apple M3 iPad Pro

• Apple’s last iPad launch was in 2022. Now, it seems, the company is ready to return to the tablet market;
• The expectation is that big tech will announce an update to more advanced M3 chips in the next version of the iPad Pro (the current version has M2 chips);
• Mark Gurman, columnist for Bloombergsuggests that another update will be on the screens, which will become OLED, bringing richer colors and deeper blacks to the iPad Pro;
• As OLED panels are thinner, the thickness of the new version should also decrease. According to the 9to5Macthe 11-inch iPad Pro will be 5.1 mm thick, 0.8 mm thinner than the current one;
• There are also rumors that Apple will move the front camera to the edge of the device, as it already did with the 2022 Pro version, and make photography easier in landscape orientation.

M2 iPad Air

The iPad Air remained in Apple’s hands for a long time, but there is hope that, at the May event, it will get a chip upgrade: it will be able to go from M1 to M2 chips (those currently available in the Pro).

There are rumors that the size of the device will increase to 12.9 inches with a mini-LED screen, also increasing the size of the camera and making it possible to add a flash. Again, this will only become clear during the event.

New Apple Keyboard and Pencil

Apple is also expected to announce updates to peripherals:

• According to Gurman, there will be an update to the Magic Keyboard to make the iPad Pro more like a laptop. Furthermore, it can get bigger and will be made of aluminum (to be more resistant);
• As for the Apple Pencil, the hope is that there will be a second generation model to replace the first. Other rumors say that there may be squeezing gestures to perform certain functions;
• It is also possible that the new big tech pencils will be compatible with Vision Pro drawing applications.
