A meteor was seen in the sky of Santa Catarina last Monday (1st) and was caught by a monitoring camera in Monte Castelo, in the north of the state. Known as a “shooting star”, the celestial body lasted about 4 seconds and ended with a small explosion. The information is from g1 SC.

According to amateur astronomer Jocimar Justino, the explosion indicates a sudden increase in brightness observed at the end of its path. The image was captured by cameras from the Brazilian Meteor Monitoring Network (Bramon), an open and collaborative organization formed by volunteers, including Justino.
