April Fools jokes started earlier this year! It wasn’t yet midnight here in Brazil when we started to see a lot of Xbox-related stories hitting the web, and clearly they’ve already fooled a lot of fans.
A story about NVIDIA’s purchase of the Xbox was one of the first major examples to gain attention, being shared by the TweakTown channel late on March 31 CDT time. In a short period of time, it easily became the most popular Google Trend for Xbox-related searches and also garnered a lot of social media attention along the way.
There are many other examples like this out there, and they range from the obvious to the not-so-obvious. Palworld developer Pocketpair sent us a particularly elaborate April Fools joke about a new dating sim called “Pal♡world! ~More Than Just Pals~” in which you could “remain friends, develop romance, or break up and eat your friends.”
In other words, be vigilant today. It’s hard to know what to believe at the best of times considering the Xbox world is always full of rumors, but if something seems too crazy to be true on April 1st, it almost certainly is!
