Baldur’s Gate 3 will still receive support and additional endings, but at the moment, its story is closed and no expansions for the RPG will be needed. Larian Studios wasted no time and revealed that the team has been preparing for the next steps, and two games could be released under the studio’s seal.

The person who confirmed this was Larian’s executive director, Swen Vincke, in an interview with IGN. Obviously, Baldur’s Gate 4 was included in the plans, but the idea didn’t seem to excite the developers. For this reason, they decided it was time to innovate and try new things.
So we started at one and even considered thinking about Baldur’s Gate 4, but we noticed very quickly that our hearts weren’t beating any faster. It wasn’t really coming from the heart and we’re very much a studio that’s about feeling. We always said that these were the plans for later. We have two games we want to make and we have a lot of concepts, so let’s just wrap up Baldur’s Gate 3.
How long will it be before we see these projects? Nobody knows, but at least Larian Studios is trying to get out of its comfort zone to give us new experiences. Excited to learn more?
