In Manacapuru, PM seizes around 400 kilos of fish and four turtles

The Environmental Policing Command (CPAmb), of the Amazonas Military Police (PMAM), seized around 400 kilos of arapaima and four turtles, this Saturday morning (27/04), in the municipality of Manacapuru (68 kilometers from Manaus) .

The police team was called to investigate a report of illegal sale of arapaima and turtles at the Liberdade fair, in the Aparecida neighborhood. During investigations at the site, 400 kilos of arapaima and four chelonians were found, two tracajás and two turtles.

Those responsible fled before the police arrived. The fish and chelonians were sent to the Manacapuru Interactive Police Station (DIP).

Guidance

The Military Police of Amazonas advises the population that killing, persecuting, hunting, catching, using species of wild fauna, native or on the migratory route, without a license valid for the entire period of travel or storage constitutes an environmental crime, subjecting its perpetrators to penalties provided for in Law.

Complaint

The Amazonas Military Police advises the population to report immediately upon becoming aware of any criminal action, via hotline 181 or 190. The identity of the complainant will be kept confidential.
