Remedy’s latest annual report revealed that Condor, the PvE multiplayer spin-off based on Control, will not be free, being offered by a “lowest starting value” and later followed by game-as-a-service updates, with the company aiming to keep players interested in continuing to play “for years”.

Information about the story was also released (via RPS), with Remedy saying that the game takes place after the Old House goes into lockdown after being invaded by the mysterious force known as Noise.

“Following the Noise invasion, the Old House is in lockdown: a boiling pot of volatile and dangerous supernatural forces. Trapped inside is the last vestige of the Federal Bureau of Control, which will need to take action and pressure to regain control. Desperate times call for desperate measures. And everyone is needed.”

Remedy also said in the report that it discovered “clever ways to utilize the world of Control as well as designs to ensure a cooperative player experience that fits into the world of Condor.”

Based on what has been shown so far, we can assume that Condor can be played by up to four players.

Unfortunately the report doesn’t say when the spin-off will be released, but it does mention that it was in the works. “production preparation phase” at the end of 2023.
