Experienced midfielder Fellipe Bastos announced his retirement from playing last Thursday (9). The now former athlete became known for his spells at Vasco and Corinthians, where he won titles at national level.

In his career, Bastos played for major Brazilian clubs. He started playing football in Botafogo’s youth teams. He played for PSV and Benfica, where he became a professional.
His first big moment was in 2011, wearing the Vasco shirt. On loan from Benfica, Fellipe was a key player in winning the Copa do Brasil that year. The Rio team was also runner-up in Brazil.
He also spent time at Grêmio, Sport, Ponte Preta, Goiás and Avaí. Outside of Brazil, Fellipe also played for Al Ain and Baniyas, both from the United Arab Emirates, as well as Servette, from Switzerland, and Belenenses, from Portugal.
In 2017, Felipe played in 18 games with the Corinthians shirt and won the Paulistão and the Brazilian Series A, in the team led by Tite.
Bastos’ last club was Amazonas. Announced at the end of January, Fellipe Bastos played five matches and was champion of the first round of Amazonense.
The last time the player entered the field was on March 9, when the Aurinegro team was defeated by Manaus 3-1 and Bastos was sent off in the first half of the game.
