Diadema hosts regional men’s basketball classic… ABC do ABC

Diadema will be the stage for an adult men’s basketball classic in the ABCD region. This Friday (10/5), starting at 8pm, the Diademense team and Associação Atlética São Caetano (from São Caetano do Sul) will face each other. The match, valid for the classification phase of the São Paulo Men’s Basketball Cup, takes place at Clube Municipal Mané Garrincha (Rua do Cariris, 195, in the Piraporinha neighborhood) and has free entry.

The São Paulo Basketball Cup is held by the São Paulo Basketball Federation (FPB) and is preparatory to the Campeonato Paulista, which takes place in the second half of the year.

The match has everything to catch fire as São Caetano is in third place in the competition’s overall standings, while Diadema is two positions below, in fifth.

For Julio Malfi, coach of the Diademense team, this is just one of the attractions of the game. “São Caetano is a traditional basketball team from São Paulo and will be an ABCD classic. But we are also going well into the game: in our last match we faced the first place in the World Cup, the undefeated Tatuí, and we almost broke their unbeaten record, losing by just 11 points at the opponent’s home ground”, he stated.
