Vôlei Campinas scheduled the presentation of the squad for the next season for Monday, May 13th, with new features, such as the announcement of a new sponsor and “two players from the Brazilian team”.
The “spoiler” increases expectations regarding the arrival of setter Bruninho to the project. With negotiations between the parties underway, he will be one of the confirmed names.
After spending the last three seasons at Modena, in Italy, Bruninho must literally return home, as he was raised in Campinas, where he took his first steps in volleyball at Clube Fonte São Paulo – his mother Vera Mossa also still lives in the city .
At 37 years old, Bruninho will take over from Argentine Demián González. The national team’s setter has not competed in the men’s Superliga since the 2020/2021 season, when he climbed to the highest place on the competition’s podium for Taubaté. Previously, he had already won six other championship titles.
The tendency is for the other name of the “Brazilian team” to be presented by Campinas to be that of central Judson. One of the highlights of the last edition of the Superliga, when he joined the tournament team playing for Suzano, he played for Campinas in the 2022/2023 season.
Who should also reinforce Campinas is striker Celestino, from Guarulhos. Campinas’ idea is to maintain the Superliga’s runner-up base, with Bruno Lima, Adriano and Lukinha remaining (the team is still negotiating the renewal of Maurício Borges), and to make specific signings.
So far, the only announcement from the team was the continuation of the work of coach Horacio Dileo, who renewed the project for two more seasons.
