Autuori is Coritiba’s “old dream”

Hiring Paulo Autuori for the football department is an old dream for Coritiba. The professional approached Coxa on at least two occasions.

In 2014, Autuori was one of the mentors, alongside João Paulo Medina and former midfielder Alex, of the football project created by one of the candidates in the thigh-white election that year. The project would be one of the pillars of the victory of the ticket led by Rogério Bacellar.

In 2023, Autuori returned to negotiate with Coxa. After leaving Atlético Nacional, in Colombia, he reached an agreement with Coritiba, but the negotiations failed and he would subsequently take the position at Cruzeiro.

Close to Coritiba, Autuori made history at rival Athletico

Autuori ended up making history at rival Athletico. He took over Furacão as coach in 2016 and 2017. Afterwards, he became the club’s technical coordinator. He would return to the position of technical coordinator of Rubro-Negro in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
