Renato Maurício Prado, columnist for UOLsaid coach Tite after Flamengo’s new stumble, this time against Palestino in the Libertadores — the red-and-black team lost 1-0 and got into trouble in the Group E table. The journalist stated that the coach is “taking over Vanderlei’s position Luxembourg of the moment” when talking about the former commander of the Brazilian team.
What did RMP say?
Working time. “With this defeat against Palestino, which leaves Flamengo on the brink of elimination in the group stage of the Libertadores — a shame and an embarrassment —, there is no longer any way for Tite to continue leading Flamengo. He already has seven months of work and , apart from the brilliance at Carioquinha, which we know is a tremendous ‘deceive me and I like it’, Flamengo never managed to rehearse a well-defined style of play and a tactic that would lead a million-dollar squad to develop its potential.”
Repeated soap opera? “Tite can’t do it. Tite is stubborn. Tite doesn’t change. Tite insists on making Flamengo play in a positional scheme, very similar to what Sampaoli, Vítor Pereira and Paulo Sousa did — and Domènec Torrent himself. If it didn’t work with these four right, why would it work with Tite?”
