Norris surpasses Verstappen and wins 1st in F1; see the post-race on Cola no Grid

Lando Norris made history in Formula 1 this Sunday (5). The McLaren driver surpassed Max Verstappen and achieved his first victory in the category by winning the Miami GP. The three-time world champion was in second place, while Charles Leclerc was in third place.

The race

Max Verstappen got a great start and soon took the lead in the first corner. Charles Leclerc, however, had a poor start and was overtaken by his teammate Carlos Sainz. Sergio Pérez did well, but made a mistake in the first corner and was overtaken by Oscar Piastri, losing a position.

Oscar Piastri overtakes Charles Leclerc on the fifth lap to take second place in the Miami GP. Hamilton overtook Hulkenberg, who returned the overtaking, but then fell behind the seven-time world champion. Sergio Pérez struggled to defend his position against Lando Norris and was behind the Briton when he returned from the pits.

On lap 28, Kevin Magnussen and Logan Sargeant were involved in an accident, which resulted in the formation of the safety car. Lando Norris led the race without stopping in the pits and was ahead of Verstappen, Leclerc and Piastri.

Norris continued to lead after the safety car exit, on lap 33, and went on to record the best lap of the race, ahead of Max Verstappen. The Brit maintained his pace, improved his time and even opened up a three-second lead over the three-time champion. Piastri and Sainz had a good battle for position that ended with the McLaren driver falling from fourth to last place after a collision with the Spaniard from Ferrari.

Lando Norris’ lead increased from lap to lap. The 24-year-old driver was leading the Miami GP comfortably and remained that way until the end. Complete objective: achieve the first victory in Formula 1 after 110 stages.
