LALIGA surrenders to Vinicius Jr. and ‘delivers’ crown after Real Madrid title

Striker Vinicius Jr., from Real Madridwas honored by LALIGA after winning the 36th Spanish title in the club’s history.

The organization published on social media a montage of coach Carlo Ancelotti handing over a crown to the player.

“The first as Real Madrid’s ‘7’,” he wrote in the caption. The Brazilian took over the historic number, which once belonged to Raúl and Cristiano Ronaldo, at the beginning of this season. Previously, he wore shirts 28, 25 and 20.

In another publication, the tournament organizer used a pun as a tribute.

The entity published a video with the Brazilian’s moves and replaced the Latin expression “veni, vidi, vici”, which means “I came, saw and won”, with “winevidi, vinci”, in reference to the Brazilian’s name.

Post-title had provocation

Vinicius Jr. took advantage of LALIGA’s victory to ironize a statement by defender Ronald Araújoof Barcelona. The defender had said, after winning the Spanish Super Cup about the Merengues last year, that the triumph represented “the beginning of a new era”.

Vini used social media this weekend to make the ‘provocation’. The Brazilian shared a publication that listed the number of titles won by each Real Madrid youngster. “The new era”, wrote the player, accompanied by an emoji with ‘attentive’ eyes.

The LALIGA title was the striker’s 11th trophy for the club. There are already three Spanish Championship wins — he also won in 2019/20 and 2021/22. The athlete also published a photo with the two previous cups and celebrated in the caption: “One more”.
