The revolt expressed in the interviews with Bruno Spindel and Bruno Henrique still on the lawn of the Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium was extended to the dressing room during the 1-1 draw between Bragantino and Flamengo, on Saturday. One scene, however, also caught attention. Tite’s hug and apology to Igor Jesus, substituted 36 minutes into the first half.
Igor Jesus is supported by Fabrício Bruno and shows dejection on the Flamengo bench
Igor, 21 years old, had already starred in two striking images that were captured by the Premiere broadcast. One of the group’s leaders, Fabrício Bruno appears paying special attention to the boy, says a few words and pats his companion, bringing his head to his shoulder.
Tite had already exchanged a quick idea with the young man on the sidelines of the field, but he made a point of hugging him and praising him in the circle where they debated the game and prayed. In a powerful scene, the coach hugged Igor Jesus, greeted him and then said the following words to him:
– Igor, you forgive me, I know how hard it was for you. The coach has to make decisions, and I needed to take you out of the game. Here is my absolute respect for you being the player you are, the professional you are. You have my respect even more after this replacement.
Meeting decides Tite’s absence in press conference
Although Bruno Spindel had already addressed harsh words to the CBF regarding the conduct of refereeing on the playing field, the communications management and the football department decided in the locker room that those responsible for the department should speak more.
On the field, the duo met with communications management to discuss the strategy and, after making a decision, they informed Tite that the coach would not be attending the press conference. The gaucho received the information well. The understanding of both departments is that the coach, visibly irritated, would be asked exclusively about refereeing.
Another factor that influenced the decision to communicate together with the football department is that Tite, in his press conferences, does not usually address issues that he considers to be of a directive nature.
Within the squad there was also a lot of anger towards the refereeing. Luiz Araújo, who suffered the penalty ignored by VAR and Paulo Cesar Zanovelli, was on the receiving end. Bruno Henrique and Gerson also did not hide their dissatisfaction. The latter, team captain in the draw with Bragantino, asked to speak.
Joker praised Flamengo’s second half and asked the team to repeat this stance. Arrascaeta echoed this, he also liked what he saw in terms of reaction and cited the approaches between the players for combinations as one of the positive factors.
