777 Partners, owner of Vasco football, is being sued in the United States. The company is accused of fraud for taking 350 million dollars (R$ 1.7 billion, at current prices) and providing as guarantees supposed funds that do not belong to it or do not even exist. The information is from “Bloomberg”.

Leandenhall, the English company responsible for making this loan, took 777 Partners to court in the US. The case began to be investigated this week. According to the report, Vasco’s owner did not respond to Bloomberg’s contact.

Josh Wander, owner of 777 Partners, gave Leanderhall $350 million in possible assets linked to the company as guarantees. The English’s complaint is that such promised assets do not exist or have already been committed by the company in another operation — and, consequently, cannot be used again.

“To induce Leadenhall to finance its operation, Wander, along with his alter ego group of entities, ‘pledged’ over $350 million in assets as collateral for Leadenhall, knowing all along that the assets did not exist, were not de facto owned by Wander’s entities or had already been pledged to another creditor,” the complaint says.

The report says that 777’s relationship with Advantage Capital Holdings LLC, a US insurance company known as A-Cap, is also under investigation. A-Cap and Kenneth King, CEO and president, are named as defendants in the lawsuit.

In addition to Vasco, the club to which it owns 70% of the football rights, the company also has a percentage of Genoa-ITA, Everton-ING, Hertha Berlin-ALE, Red Star-FRA and Standard Liège-BEL.
