Zhou Guanyu and Pierre Gasly were summoned by the stewards of the Formula 1 Miami GP, for infractions committed during the qualifying session. The Sauber driver was called for two infractions. A pit lane exit line infraction as Zhou was released from his garage by his mechanics while Daniel Ricciardo waited patiently in line. The Chinese driver joined the queue irregularly, contrary to the race director’s notes that detailed how the cars should line up at the pit-lane exit.
The Chinese driver was also summoned for crossing the white line at the exit of the pit lane.
It is worth noting that both Ricciardo and Zhou failed to progress to Q2 and must start the race in the last positions, before any penalty is applied to Zhou.
Alpine driver Pierre Gasly was also summoned for the same infraction as Zhou, not following the race director’s notes on the pit lane exit line.
