Santos (SP) – The Santos Brasil Tennis Cup begins this Sunday, an ATP Challenger 50 tournament, which distributes US$41,000 in prizes and world ranking points. The tournament will be played on the clay courts of the Tênis Clube de Santos and marks the return of professional competitions in the city after an eight-year absence.

The list of athletes has 11 countries represented, including the main favorite, Kazakh Dmitry Popko, currently 234th in the world, and Argentines Santiago Rodriguez Taverna, 237th placed, and Renzo Olivo, champion of the last edition of the event, in 2016. Enter the Brazilians, highlighting Pedro Sakamoto, Mateus Alves and Daniel Dutra da Silva from São Paulo, as well as Karue Sell from Santa Catarina, the last two with excellent results this week in Porto Alegre.

The Santos Brasil Tennis Cup qualifier will start at 10am this Sunday and will guarantee six more places in the main draw.
