On Saturday night (May 4), Red Bull Bragantino will face Flamengo in the 5th round of the 2024 Brazilian Championship. The match is scheduled for 6:30 pm (Brasília time) at the Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium, in Bragança Paulista.
Red Bull Bragantino, which still maintains its unbeaten record in the Brasileirão, occupies third place in the table, with eight points won. The team from São Paulo is on a positive streak, accumulating six matches without defeat, also including games in the South American Championship and Copa do Brasil. In the last match for the championship, Bragantino drew 1-1 with Fortaleza, away from home.
On the other hand, Flamengo seeks to regain consistency after winning the Campeonato Carioca title. Despite the state success, the Rio club faces difficulties at the start of the Libertadores and has not won in two games in the Brasileirão. The team’s last victory was against Amazonas in the Copa do Brasil, although the performance did not please the fans, who booed the team at the end of the game.
The retrospective between the teams shows a balance, with Bragantino having a slight advantage of seven wins against Flamengo’s six, in a total of 19 matches. In the last meeting, Flamengo emerged victorious 1-0, thanks to a goal from Uruguayan midfielder De Arrascaeta.
