A purchase of Cruzeiro by businessman Pedro Lourenço has affected the football market due to changes in the club’s football department and the prospect of new signings. One of the names speculated to arrive at Raposa is that of center forward Deyverson, from Cuiabá.

Nonetheless, TEMPO Sports found out this Thursday (02/05) that the 32-year-old player is not on Cruzeiro’s radar at the moment, despite Deyverson’s good relationship with Alexandre Mattos, new football executive at the celestial club. They worked together at Palmeiras from 2017 to 2019.

In August last year, the center forward, already at Dourado, cried when he was praised by Mattos in an interview. “He’s a good crazy guy, who a defender hates to have there, because he charges, he runs, he fights, he doesn’t stop,” Mattos said on the occasion, on the TNT channel. Then, the manager told two stories of Deyverson’s solidarity off the field, bringing the athlete to tears.

The center forward has a contract with Cuiabá until the end of the year, but is in conflict with the club. Last Saturday (27/04), the president of Dourado, Cristiano Dresch, said that, at least for now, Deyverson will not play for the Mato Grosso team.

“Deyverson’s contract ends in December and negotiations were made to discuss a pre-contract with him at the beginning of the year and he didn’t accept it. Cuiabá decided not to play him anymore. His agent said he already has a pre-contract. -contract being negotiated with another team, and we decided that he will no longer play for Cuiabá, until he changes his mind”, said Dresch.
