Elimination games defined in Goalball Southeast Regional 1

The Southeast Regional 1 goalball championship reaches its final phase this Friday (3). The quarterfinals of the men’s group take place in the morning, while the semifinals of both categories take place in the afternoon. These games will define who will play for the title in the finals scheduled for Saturday (4).

The final round of the group stage, played this Thursday (2), confirmed the semifinal crossings between women. In Group A, IBC-RJ (Instituto Benjamin Constant) got the better of the direct confrontation against Ivos-ES (Instituto Vila Olímpica Social): 11 to 6. In group B, Adevibel-MG (Association of the Visually Impaired of Belo Horizonte) beat Apae Leopoldina-MG (Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional of Leopoldina): 11 to 3.

Unlike the women’s group, the competition format for the men’s group is divided into three groups. Teams from each group play against each other and the top eight in the overall classification advance to the quarterfinals. This Thursday the last six games of the first phase took place.
