Madrid (Spain) – Little by little, Polish Iga Swiatek is writing her name in the history of tennis. Living her 101st week as number 1 in the world, the 22-year-old achieved two more relevant milestones in this Thursday’s victory over North American Madison Keys, in the semifinals of the WTA 1000 in Madrid.

In addition to registering your 70th triumph on clay, Swiatek will compete in the 11th final in 29 career 1000-level event appearances, achieving an average of 37.9%. Thus, she leaves behind the former record holder, the American Serena Williams, with 18 decisions in 49 tournaments (36.7%). It is worth noting that the WTA only considers numbers from 2009, when the current format of the women’s circuit came into force.
