Have you ever thought about having a car in your garage that was once driven by Ayrton Senna himself? Admirers of the three-time F1 champion may have the chance to purchase the 1991 Honda NSX that belonged to the Brazilian during his stays in Portugal – but for the no small price of 500,000 pounds, equivalent to R$3.1 million.
The vehicle was a gift from the Japanese automaker, at the time a McLaren engine supplier, to the Brazilian. Senna helped in the development of the super sports car and even tested it, in the early 1990s, at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan. The three-time champion was also presented with another model of the car, a black version, which is in Brazil.

The then McLaren driver used the car during his stays at his residence in Algarve, Portugal. The model is being sold by its current owner, who acquired the vehicle in its first sale 11 years ago, in 2013. At the time, Senna’s Honda NSX was purchased for 110 thousand pounds, around R$701 thousand at the current price.
Four years after the driver’s death, at the 1994 San Marino GP in Imola, the car was purchased by a Honda dealership in Portugal. From there, it was purchased by a British man who put the model up for sale in 2013, when the current owner obtained it.
The car has a 273 hp V6 engine. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 5s8 and can reach 265 km/h. It currently has 62 thousand kilometers driven.
Senna’s Honda NSX will also be displayed at the Senna Exhibition at the Silverstone Circuit, an event that will be organized at the host track of the British F1 GP in honor of the 30th anniversary of the driver’s death, from August 23rd to 25th.
