This Friday (26), the Club Super World Cup in 2025 met two more classified teams, both from Africa: Mamelodi Sundownsfrom South Africa, and Esperance, from Tunisia. The unprecedented edition, which will take place in the United States, now has 26 of the 32 defined participants.
The duo joins Al Ahlyfrom Egypt, and Wydad Casablancafrom Morocco, thus completing the list of clubs from Africa present at the World Cup.
The vacancy came through Champions of Africa. This Friday, Mamelodi and Esperánce faced each other in the semifinals, and the Tunisians came out on top and won 1-0 and advanced to the final. However, what defined the pair’s classification was, in fact, the other semi, formed by Al Ahly and Mazembewhere the Egyptians ranked.
