A behind-the-scenes situation at the CBF has been bothering Brazilian clubs competing in the Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana. The newspaper O Globo reports that the national entity has been slow to pass on to its affiliates the financial quotas already transferred by Conmebol for its participation in international tournaments.

Directors responsible for the issue have already assured each other that there is a widespread delay and are trying to charge the CBF, but have not yet received a response from the entity’s financial director, Valdecir de Souza. This problem is already influencing the cash flow of some clubs at the beginning of the seasons.

It is worth remembering that this money does not belong to the CBF. She is just an intermediary. Conmebol is the one who deposits the amounts relating to the first phases of the competitions and the group stage games, already in progress.

Fluminense is one of the teams in the group stage of the Libertadores, which has a quota of US$3 million (R$15.5 million) plus US$330 thousand (R$1.7 million) per victory
