Undefeated under the command of Gabriel Milito, Atlético has left a good impression on the national scene. This Wednesday (24/4), after Galo’s victory over Peñarol-URU (3-2) in the Copa Libertadores, commentator Alexandre Lozetti, from SportTV, praised the black and white performance in recent matches. The journalist said he believes that the Minas Gerais team “plays the best football” in the country.
The triumph against Peñarol was Milito’s fifth in charge of Atlético. In the other three games, there were three draws. Even though he faced difficulties in recent clashes, the “Marechal” Rooster was praised by Lozetti.
“For me, since he (Milito) arrived, it is the team that plays the best football – despite the fluctuations within the matches. They may be the result of recent work. It’s natural. They may be the result of a physical issue. The intensity of what the team does has changed a lot – with the ball and without the ball. Pressing, positioning, way of attacking… I am very impressed with how quickly he assimilated”, analyzed the commentator on SporTV Selection.
“Atlético is suffering in some games. It wasn’t supposed to take Criciúma’s draw, yesterday it took a lot of risk of taking the draw, being superior to its opponents, but it’s a team that I’m delighted to see the speed with which concepts have been put into practice. Modestly, contrary to what Milito said, I think it is to his credit”, he added.
Atlético de Milito returns to the field on Saturday (27/4), starting at 6:30 pm, to face Cuiabá in the fourth round of Series A of the Brazilian Championship. The match will be played at Arena Pantanal, in Cuiabá.
