In a brief official note, the Paraguayan’s former club stated that the athlete obtained from FIFA the right to “exercise his professional activity” in another team after leaving Timão in litigation.
The São Paulo team also highlighted that the highest football entity will still decide on amounts to be paid by the association to Rojaswho left Parque São Jorge complaining about lack of payments.
“FIFA granted release to Matías Rojas to carry out his professional activity, guaranteeing only the right to work. In relation to any amounts that may be owed, the case still depends on an arbitration decision by FIFA”, wrote Corinthians.
Free on the market since the beginning of March this year, the 28-year-old Paraguayan signed for free with the club Lionel Messi at MLS until the end of the current season.
In the agreement, there is still the possibility that Rojas will expand his ties with the Americans until 2026.
Hired by Corinthians in July 2023, the midfielder spent just over six months at Parque São Jorge and left the club after being dissatisfied with the few chances at the club and also because of a debt that the Timão board owed him.
During his short period in Brazil, he competed 30 games and did not score goals, contributing 3 assists.
