Tande cries and reveals the severity of the heart attack he suffered: “Two hours to die”

Former volleyball player Tande gave some details about the heart attack he suffered on April 12th. Last Sunday (21), the sports commentator gave an interview to Domingo Espetacular and revealed that his health problem was much more serious than everyone imagined. The cardiologist who treated him at the hospital explained the seriousness of the situation. “He said I had two hours to a week to die”, said the athlete, quite emotional.

Tande said that he has always led an active life and never abandoned physical exercise, even though he retired from volleyball in 2004. He has a gym at home where he trains frequently, which is why he was surprised when he discovered that he was having a heart attack. “I never thought it could be a heart attack. I am an Olympic champion, world champion, king of the beach, speaker, I launched a book. Wow, it’s Tande! Never [imaginei]. I thought that at most it would be pneumonia”, he said.

Like Tande himself, followers on social media were amazed at his health. “People were like, ‘Wow, if it happened to an athlete, an Olympic champion, it could happen to me.’ ‘With Tande? Did he not take care of himself?’. I never smoked, I never drank, I never took drugs”, he said. The former Olympic champion attributed his heart attack to genetics. “My grandfather died very young, he had a heart attack. My uncle, my mother’s brother, [estava] in football on Saturday morning, he went on the attack, when he came back running, he fell hard at the age of 42”, he assessed.

Tande said that he had experienced symptoms on other occasions, such as wheezing, stitches in the chest and even pain that went from his tooth to his ear, but he paid no attention. After five days in hospital, the sports commentator went home, where he will continue treatment. “I had three lectures this week, the doctor ordered them to be cancelled, after all the work I did (laughs). [Ele disse:] ‘You’re born again, April 13, 2024 is your new birthday,’” he joked.
