América presented this Wednesday (3/4) goalkeeper Elias, who arrives on loan from Itabirito until the end of the season. At the press conference, the 28-year-old player celebrated the opportunity and recalled his comeback in the 2024 Campeonato Mineiro after a period of unemployment.

“Not many people know, but this time last year I spent almost five months at home. At that time, I was unemployed at home, it was a very difficult time”, revealed Elias.

The goalkeeper made no secret of the fact that his performances for Itabirito, which debuted in the Minas Gerais football elite in 2024, were fundamental in the resumption of his career.

“I would like to thank all the people who opened the doors for me to return to playing. One of these people was President Maycon (Pereira), from Itabirito, who gave me all the support to get back to work and have confidence. My arrival at América will certainly go through this door that he opened for me at Itabirito.”

Reinforcement praises America

The newly arrived goalkeeper at Lanna Drumond praised the club: “The entire structure and squad here at América is not from Series B. We know the reality of the club, which is from Series A”.

“Yes, we are capable of fighting for the Series B title. With our feet on the ground, with serious work, to achieve our objective”, he assessed.
