The draw between Burnley and Wolverhampton, in the Premier League, had a curious scene outside the pitch. For security reasons, hundreds of fans were removed from a specific part of the Turf Moor stadium stand.
The reason for removing people from the stands was a piece of metal from the structure of the marquee that was hanging. The risk of material falling meant that match security guards chose to evacuate the area.
The stadium’s big screen announced the withdrawal. “For security reasons, block 7 in the lower east part of the Jimmy Mcilroy Stand will be kept empty until the end of the game”announced the match organization.
The problem was noticed halfway through the first half, when security guards began to remove fans from the venue. People who had to leave their seats were relocated to another sector of the stadium to watch the rest of the match.
