Braga confirmed this Wednesday the departure of coach Artur Jorge to Botafogo. In a statement, the Portuguese club stated that it will receive the amount of 2 million euros (around R$10.9 million) to release the coach.

Artur Jorge reached an agreement with Botafogo to lead the team for the next two seasons. He watched Lyon’s French Cup game last Tuesday alongside John Textor, owner of SAF black and white.

The Portuguese will arrive in Brazil on Wednesday and will go practically straight to the Nilton Santos Stadium to watch Botafogo’s debut in the group stage of the Conmebol Libertadores, against Junior Barranquilla, from Colombia, at 7pm.

“SC BRAGA – FUTEBOL, SAD, confirms the transfer of head coach ARTUR JORGE TORRES GOMES ARAÚJO AMORIM to SAF BOTAFOGO for a guaranteed consideration of 2 million euros.

The transfer of the coach does not imply charges for intermediation services for SC BRAGA – FUTEBOL, SAD.

The new head coach of the SC BRAGA – FOOTBALL, SAD team and the respective technical team will be announced in due course.”
