Usain Bolt’s godson draws attention with dribbling at Real Madrid’s base

A fast boy with good ball control caught the attention of children training at La Fundación, Real Madrid’s base headquarters, last week. The Spanish press also highlighted the boy’s dribbling and shooting. Shortly afterwards, super champion Usain Bolt posted the boy’s videos and revealed that he was his godson, who goes by the nickname NJJ Walker.

In one of the videos, NJ appears already running in front of a marker. He overcomes a second opponent and advances the ball almost to the baseline, where he reaches and dominates it with ease. “Fast like ‘uncle’,” Bolt wrote in the caption. Another video that made the athletics star proud was a great goal scored by the boy. NJ receives a pass at the edge of the area, dominates with his left leg, adjusting his body to hit and cover the goalkeeper. In the video, you can hear what appears to be Bolt saying “score (the goal), NJ!”.

The newspaper To the He said that, upon learning that NJ was Bolt’s godson, Real Madrid wanted to put him under monitoring as a possible jewel for the future. However, despite having trained at La Fundación, NJ is a foreigner and does not live in Spain, which makes it impossible for him to sign a contract with the club until he reaches adulthood.

NJ is the son of Nugent Walker Junior, Bolt’s teammate on the Jamaican Olympic team, in Sydney and Athens, in 2000 and 2004, respectively. Afterwards, Walker acted as the star’s agent. The godfather has a great appreciation for football and encourages his godson in sports and athletics.

Usain Bolt is the only athlete to become three-time champion in two track disciplines at the Olympic Games. After retiring in 2017, at the age of 31, Bolt had a brief career as a football player in Australia for a year.
