Globo formalized with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), this Monday (1/4), a proposal for the broadcast of Series B of this year’s Brazilian Championship, which does not yet have a fully defined broadcaster.

The broadcaster already has the rights to Santos games as host. The project is a partial acquisition, similar to what was done by the media group until last year, when there was an agreement with the Brax agency.

According to the project sent to the highest national football entity, Globo would play a few games per round on SporTV, a sports channel on pay TV.

Everything else would be broadcast on Premiere, Globo’s pay-per-view channel, which also shows games from Series A of the Brazilian Championship. Globo does not ask for exclusivity.

The proposal is being analyzed by the president of the confederation, Ednaldo Rodrigues, who has the final say on the sale.

The definition regarding the broadcast of Series B should not pass this week. The second national division starts in less than two weeks, and clubs are pushing to have an exhibition.

What is known is that Band is out. Brax, which sublicensed the rights, had a chance to take over some smaller clubs in the access division, but did not reach an agreement with the CBF.
