A 24-year-old man, known as “Bacurau”, was arrested in Manaus, on Tuesday (30), suspected of having committed two homicides in the municipality of Coari, in the interior of Amazonas.
According to delegate Wenceslan de Queiroz, the crimes occurred on October 5, 2022, and the victims were enemies of the criminal group of which “Bacurau” is identified as a gunman. The suspect is directly involved in the criminal action.
“The operation resulted in the execution of two preventive arrest warrants, decreed by the 2nd Court of the District of Coari. After receiving reports informing the location of the individual, we managed to arrest him in the Colônia Terra Nova neighborhood, north of the capital”, reported the delegate.
According to the police authority, with the arrest made, a crucial step is taken in relation to the fight against organized crime, which reaffirms the Civil Police’s commitment to security and justice.
“We continue to count on the support of society regarding any type of crime, reporting is always important through the number (92) 98513-3618, dial a report from the 12th DIP, or 181 from the Amazonas Public Security Secretariat (SSP-AM )”, he concluded.
The suspect will be charged with qualified homicide and will be available to the Judiciary.
