Brusque is the first Superliga B team confirmed in the national volleyball elite for the next season. The team from Santa Catarina beat Recife by 3 sets to 1, this Thursday (28), at the Geraldão gymnasium, in Recife and ended the semi-final series 2-0. The splits were 25/16, 25/18, 19/25 and 25/23.
In Superliga B, the two teams in the grand final guarantee a place in the national volleyball elite in the 2024/25 season. Brusque will compete for the title against Mackenzie or Curitiba, who face each other this Friday (28). A Minas Gerais team leads the confrontation best of three 1-0. The team from Santa Catarina returns to the elite one year after relegation.
Brusque came in third place in the qualifying phase, behind Recife itself and leader Mackenzie. The campaign was 25 points with eight wins and three defeats. The first game of the clash saw Brusque win 3-0. The team, led by Maurício Thomas, scored 25/18, 25/15 and 27/25, at Arena Brusque.
The game
The Brusque team started the game with good volume of play. The visiting team managed to create a good rhythm in the game and were efficient in their attacks. The first two partials were won by the Santa Catarina team by 25 to 16 It is 25 to 18.
In the third set, Recife took advantage of the opposing team’s anxiety and managed to impose itself. Making fewer mistakes, the home team started to take advantage of attacking chances and closed the partial in 25 to 19.
The fourth half was the most balanced of the game. Both teams played well and the dispute continued without either team opening up a big advantage. In the final stretch, Brusque came back from a 23-22 deficit, scored three times in a row and finished in 25 to 23.
