Last Thursday, shortly after qualifying for the final of the Campeonato Paulista, president Marcelo Teixeira explained that he intends to pay the debt and demonstrated empathy with the Russians. Until Peixe pays the amount due, FIFA will prevent the club from registering any new player. In practice, this means that coach Fábio Carille can only count on reinforcements from the youth teams – which harms the planning for the Brasileirão Series B dispute, scheduled to start in April.
