O Corinthians entered the field for the first time since being eliminated in the group stage of Paulista championship this Wednesday (27) in a friendly against London in Cascavel, Paraná.
The São Paulo club won the match 3-0, with two goals from Romero and one of Giovane, but the result wasn’t the only thing that shook social media. Right at the beginning, in the 16th minute, coach Antônio Oliveira, from Corinthians, received a yellow card for an aggressive complaint and gave the first signs that the atmosphere of the game was not very friendly.
In the second half, the atmosphere became even more heated with Fagner’s foul on Iago Teles in the fourth minute. The infraction was the trigger for confusion between the players involved. As a result, the two were expelled.
Marthã, from Londrina, also went to the locker room early. The player received the second yellow and, consequently, the red. All this tension on the field was widely discussed on the web.
Corinthians returns to the field again on April 2nd, this time in the Sul-Americana, against Racing-URU. The club’s debut in the Brazilian Championship will be against Atlético-MG at the Neo Química Arena on a date to be confirmed.
