Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen wants to put the bitter result in the Formula 1 Australian GP behind him. The Dutchman, who abandoned the race in Melbourne early on due to brake problems, is already focused on the next challenge: the GP of Japan, in Suzuka.

The race in Melbourne marked Verstappen’s first retirement in two years, which certainly lit the flame for revenge in the Dutch driver. Interestingly, the last time Verstappen didn’t score was in Singapore, last season. At the time, Red Bull was unable to find the ideal setup for the RB19, which limited Verstappen and Sergio Perez to a discreet performance.

However, history had a different outcome in Suzuka. Verstappen dominated the Japanese race in 2023, taking victory with almost 20 seconds of advantage over McLaren’s Lando Norris. The Dutchman hopes to repeat the feat this year: “The temperature will probably be a little different, but Suzuka is one of my favorite tracks. It’s always good to race there, especially considering the relationship we have with Honda and the Japanese fans”, said Verstappen, excited for the race in Japan.
