“It’s a chance to show my value,” said Leclerc on Hamilton’s arrival

Charles Leclerc sees Lewis Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari from the 2025 Formula 1 season onwards as an opportunity to demonstrate his talent.

“Of course I will learn from Lewis,” Leclerc said in an interview with Fox Sports Australia. “But it’s also a chance to show what I can do, which I see as an exciting challenge. I think it’s going to be great.”

The driver revealed that he knew a few months ago that hiring Hamilton was a possibility. “Still, it was a surprise to learn that there was actually a chance of it happening.”

Leclerc says goodbye to Carlos Sainz, teammate since 2021. The duo has everything it takes to become Ferrari’s longest-lasting partnership since Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello.

“I had an incredible relationship with Carlos,” said Leclerc. “They were fantastic years together, but also more difficult years as a team, because performance wasn’t exactly where we wanted. However, we work very well together and we want to end this last year in the best possible way.”

“So Lewis will join the team, which is an incredible challenge for me because he is the most successful driver in F1 history. It will be great to have him as a teammate”, concluded the Monegasque.
