Electric Cargo Bike

GoCycle announced its first electric cargo bike in two versions, the CXi and CX+. This did not prevent it from having attributes inspired by Formula 1 cars.

Learn more about model attributes:

  • According to the website AutoEvolutionsome of the differentials of the cargo e-bike are the foldable frame, accessories and light weight;
  • The bike weighs 23 kg. This may seem like a lot for those who pedal a traditional model, but for electric bike enthusiasts, it is light;
  • Among the attributes inspired by Formula 1, it comes with an aluminum structure with carbon fiber and a protective handrail (also made of carbon fiber), for smaller passengers, but without adding weight to the bike;
  • The model also has a customizable rear seat for children, made of carbon fiber and with rounded edges, to provide comfort and safety.

More specifications

Let’s get to the point: an electric cargo bike needs to be able to handle weight. The GoCycle one can hold 200 kg.

However, this includes the weight of the driver and the bike, which is not that big of an advantage. For example, if the driver is an adult man, weighing around 80 kg, and the bike weighs 23 kg, there is less than 100 kg of cargo left (which is still a lot, but less than the company suggests).

In terms of motorization, both versions will come with a motor with a power of 500 W (subject to limitation to 250 W in European countries, according to regulations). With this decrease, the bike should reach 25 km/h.

It also comes with a five-speed gearbox system, torque sensor on the pedal. The range is 80.5 km.
