Hired by Record since 2008, Rodrigo Faro faces his most delicate moment at the broadcaster. Hora do Faro, which celebrates 10 years on air this Saturday (27), has faced an audience crisis since 2019 and despite the production’s attempts to save the Sunday show, nothing had the expected effect of turning the game around for real.

With Eliana leaving SBT, this is another chance for Rodrigo Faro to arm himself. The last time he won most of his confrontations against the blonde was in 2018. Without her as his tormentor from July onwards, the presenter will have the opportunity to once again enter the public’s radar.

You can’t say it was a lack of trying. Over the last few years, the Sunday show has tried to resurrect Dança Gatinho, focusing on emotion, international formats and even a game show led by Faustão.

The last big breather was when they were eliminated from A Fazenda in the 2020 season, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. With the reality show on the rise, he surfed the wave, but all it took was for the program to end to face an audience crisis that doesn’t stop.

Faro time in crisis at Record

Rodrigo Faro is a professional committed to the house’s programming. It has hard-working production, see the staff turnover in recent times. A serious study needs to be carried out on how much his image has been damaged in the public eye since the episode of Gugu Liberato’s death (1959-2019), when the presenter, in the midst of crying, questioned who the audience was at that moment. Part of the public – without quantifying it – does not forget the fact.

Faro arrived with star status on Record in 2008. He made history on Saturdays, was the reason for severe migraine pain for Globo and at a certain point, he also shone on Sundays. The question is whether Hora do Faro fell in line with Record as a whole or is there something more serious.

They are often cycles. Domingo Legal and Eliana themselves already went through a phase of public escape at the end of the last decade. They regained their position as vice-leader even though SBT knows little about what that is throughout the week.
