Jorge Seif (PL-SC) says in the plenary that he had no intention of disrespecting his State or Rio Grande do Sul
Senator Jorge Seif (PL-SC) went to the plenary this Tuesday (May 7, 2024) to apologize to his voters for going to the singer Madonna’s concert in Copacabana, Rio, on Saturday (May 4).
“Last Saturday, I disappointed my electorate. I went to a show, which did not represent some of our values, and some people felt disappointed in me.”said the congressman.
Seif declared that he was not disrespecting the population of Santa Catarina or Rio Grande do Sul, which suffers from heavy rains, or “honoring issues that I didn’t know would occur.” Madonna’s performance was filled with moments criticized by conservatives, such as the kiss between two women and simulated sex.
In addition to the senator, other allies of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) also attended the show. Among them, his advisor Fabio Wajngarten and former first lady Michelle’s makeup artist, Agustin Fernandez. They stayed in the VIP area next to the governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro (PL).
